Mission & Vision
Vision: To provide access to all People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV) in West Bengal, bringing them together under one umbrella to help them lead more productive lives with dignity and self-confidence.
Mission: To unite through networking so that PLHIV come together to become aware, share experiences, and build confidence to tackle problems. BNP+ aims to develop skills, combat discrimination, and advocate for the rights and needs of PLHIV, including access to proper treatment and psychological support.
About Us
BNP+ was founded on August 26, 2004, as a state-level network of, for, and by people living with HIV/AIDS in West Bengal. It is affiliated with the National Coalition of People Living with HIV in India (NCPI+). Registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act 1961 (Registration No. S/IL/24855), BNP+ has grown into a strong coalition with 21 District Level Networks (DLNs), comprising 25,000 members (excluding children).

• Community Support Groups: Facilitating peer support and shared experiences.
• Counseling Services: Providing psychological and emotional support.
• Medical Referrals: Connecting members to necessary health services and treatments.
• Nutritional Support: Offering supplements, especially for children affected or infected with HIV/AIDS.
• Legal Aid: Collaborating with legal services for advocacy and awareness programs.
• Training and Skill Development: Enhancing members' abilities to tackle challenges and earn a livelihood.

BNP+ is governed by a democratically elected board of 7 members, all of whom are HIV positive. The board is elected every Five years during the annual general meeting.



Impact/Achievements
Starting Small, Growing Big: BNP+ began as a small group in 2004 and has grown a lot since then. Now, it helps people with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV) across West Bengal through its 20 district networks.
Raise Fund: BNP+ raise funds for helping others who has no one.
Media Advocacy Cell: Raise issue through Media.
Speaking Up for Change: BNP+ talks to important people to change rules that affect PLHIV. It wants PLHIV to be treated fairly in hospitals, at work, and in society.
Teaching Skills: BNP+ teaches PLHIV how to talk to others about their rights. This helps them feel stronger and more confident.
Helping Hands: BNP+ gives support to PLHIV by organizing groups, giving advice, and helping them get medical care and other services they need.
Being Ready for Emergencies: When bad things happen, like the COVID-19 pandemic or natural disasters, BNP+ helps PLHIV quickly. They give food, medicine, and other help.
Supporting Women, Youth and Adolescents : BNP+ knows that Women, Youth and Adolescents with HIV/AIDS face different problems. They’re under process of making a WPLHIV group to help them feel safe and respected.
Working Together: BNP+ teams up with others, like the government and charities, to do more good things for PLHIV. They share ideas and help each other out.
