Burdwan Sadar Pyara Nutrition Welfare Society is working hard in the field of Nutrition & health along with Education & Environment. The society strongly believes that proper nutrition & maintaining proper nutritional status is the key factor for wellness and maintaining sound health status. Malnutrition can cause both communicable & non-communicable diseases and can increase national burden on health sector. Undernourished slum area people of urban region & poor fellows of different villages are the most vulnerable group and suffers most from different communicable diseases and also suffers from different non-communicable diseases like NAFL diseases & cancers. Burdwan Sadar Pyara Nutrition Welfare Society strongly believe that nutritional status cannot be maintained without proper basic education as well as nutrition & health education. Therefore society also trying to improve educational status of the poor community of East Burdwan District. The society also believes that environment has a strong impact on health status of the people as well as on socio-economic condition of the people. In this context society is working hard on these three fields with major focus on Nutrition & health.
The Society works on eight projects i.e.

1. Varistha Bandana: under this project the society tries to improve both the physical and mental health of elderly people by maintaining proper geriatric nutrition. Hence society supplies food materials to poor elderly people and organizes free health checkup camps for those people
2. Annaprashana: under this project society finds out severe acute malnourished children and moderately acute malnourished children in different slum areas of West Bengal and tries hard to improve their nutritional status and lifestyle also
3. Shyamalima: which supports plantation and destroying poisinous plants like parthenium
4. Anandam: projects make poor people happy as society organizes picnic and pandel hopping during Durga puja. This program mentally boosts up those people who also busy with their misery and counting the dates of their deaths. From those programs society also donates clothes, rags and monthly rations to the poor people. This project offers a unique opportunity to bring individuals from diverse religion and socio-economic statuses together fostering social cohesion, eliminating discrimination and promoting equality.

5. Under Utsaho project the society felicitates students who are poor but scores well in secondary & higher secondary examination.
6. Under the project Samporker Bandhan the society helps those poor family where there is family violence due to addiction.
7. Under Kutumba project the society directly helps victims of different accidents and other hazards financially.
8. Swasthya Vikas is another project of the society by which free diet camps and health check-up camps are organized frequently to aware people about health, nutrition & role of diet in disease prevention.

Now the society has expanded its working area and entered in the neighbour state Jharkhand also.

Future Aspect: Burdwan Sadar Pyara Nutrition Welfare Society with its 8 existing project want to secure the health status of future generation and wants to increase human power which will be economically beneficial for our country and will lead to sustainable development and sustainable growth of the country. In this regard society wants to establish the following establishments:
1. A nutrition rehabilitation centre as East Burdwan District has no NRC.
2. An establishment for vagabonds.
3. Ensure all school campuses of the district as parthenium and plastic free.
4. Ensure school admission of every children of more than five years of age and to ensure their continuity up to 18 years of age, hence stop child labour.
