Digambarpur Angikar is a registered non-profit, non-government organization based in Sundarban region established in the year 2000 with a view to undertake relief, rehabilitation and empowering the underprivileged & vulnerable section of the society, through provision of awareness building on different issues, Institutional care, Right based campaign, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene promotion, Construction of Low Cost Sanitation, Skill development Vocational Training, Disaster Risk Mitigation Programme.

The organization is also promoting women SHGs and their federations to address common issues, sustainable livelihoods, natural farming practices and animal resource development.

Digambarpur Angikar also runs shelter homes for the destitute girl children in need of care & protection and another home for risk girls like traffic victims. Old aged homes for both women and men and running home for the differently abled children in Patharpratima. Our focus areas of work are Child Protection through Institutional & Non Institutional services, Anti Human trafficking action, Child education and their rehabilitation.

Vision of the Organization:
Visualized an egalitarian society where people irrespective of caste, creed & religion can enjoy their basic human rights with equal access to resources for quality in life and livelihood.

Mission of the Organization:
Strengthen the empowerment process of the most vulnerable women and children, so that they can realize and protect their basic human rights.
Goal:
The overall goals of the organization is to strengthen the empowerment process of women, children and other vulnerable community of coastal backward Sundarban region through community mobilization, education, care, protection, vocational training and livelihood development and thus equip the target community to be self sufficient in all respects.
Objectives:
• To reach out poorest and underprivileged section of society for self reliance;
• To stop discriminating factor based on caste, creed, sex, clan and colour;
• To create a strong awareness among the local people to solve their local problems through ensuring local resource mobilization;
• To emphasis on women and child development programmes and women empowerment;
• To empower marginalized communities through economic and social development;
• To build capacities among marginalized farm families to enhance income and employment through adoptation of better technologies, inputs flow and marketing development.
• To establish and running Homes as Specialised Adoption Agency (SAA), home for CNCP, CWSN, Open Shelter, Swadhar Home, Observation Home, Ujjwala Home, cottage home for destitute children and Drug De addiction Centre;
