Milan Ekadash is a grassroots, non-profit community-based organization established in 1996 in Purba Medinipur district, West Bengal, India. From its inception, the organization has been dedicated to empowering underprivileged communities—especially poor children, orphans, first-generation learners, women, and marginalized families—through education, health, livelihood promotion, and humanitarian support.

Our guiding principle is simple yet powerful: “Eradication of poverty through education, and education as a tool for health, dignity, and sustainable livelihood.”

Vision : To eradicate poverty through education, adopting it as the most powerful tool to improve health, promote sustainable livelihoods, and build a brighter future for disadvantaged communities.

Mission : To provide complete support, protection, and care to needy, underprivileged, and marginalized people of rural areas and aim to bring about change in their lives for a better tomorrow, a society of economic and social justice.

Our Major Activities :

Milan Academy School (1999 – Ongoing): A school for poor, orphaned, migrant labourers’ children, and first-generation learners. Focused on holistic child development with quality education, mid-day meals, and extracurricular activities. The present number of students is 289 in 2025 with 13 teachers and 2 non-teaching staff, Scholarship for needy students, Books, tuition fees, uniforms, etc for poor students.

Rural Water Security Program, WASH and Sanitation, Farming and Afforestrtion Programs, Child Marriage Prevention and School Enroll Programs,Health and Nutrition Program , Livelihood Promotion Initiatives and Relief & Humanitarian Support etc.

Our Strengths:

A] Educational Project: A primary school called "Milan Academy School’ has been running since 1999 for backward children. The present number of students is 296 in 2025, Scholarship for needy students, Books, tuition fees, uniforms, etc for poor students.

B] Health Project: Free Medical Camps, Free Eye Camps with Free Spectacles Distribution, Cataract Surgery Operation, Mother and Child Care Program with health camps in remote areas.

C] Environmental Project: 15000 Jackfruit Saplings, 5000 Banana Saplings, and 5000 Mango Saplings have been planted in 2023. D] Poverty Alleviation: We are distributing rations to poor people, food, and basic aid to orphans, widows, mentally and physically challenged people. Blanket distribution in winter.
