SARANI is a Kolkata-based Non-Governmental Organization established in 1973 (Reg. No. S/13017; DARPAN ID: WB/2021/0288848), dedicated to inclusive and sustainable social development. Founded by Smt. Dipa Maiti, and inspired by the philanthropic values of Dr. Krishna Pada Sarkar with the blessings of Mother Teresa, SARANI has served marginalized communities across West Bengal for over five decades.

The organization works across key development sectors including child welfare, education and literacy, health and family welfare, women’s empowerment, tribal affairs, rural development, renewable energy, and addiction rehabilitation. SARANI adopts a community-centric approach focused on dignity, self-reliance, transparency, and long-term impact.

At 77 years of age, Smt. Dipa Maiti continues to provide active leadership, with special emphasis on empowering rural women in remote areas of Birbhum district. SARANI seeks CSR partnerships to scale its programs, strengthen infrastructure, and deliver measurable, ethical, and sustainable social impact through collaborative action.
