22nd March, 2025 marked a significant day in the history of The Biswas Educational Foundation (TBEF). It was a day of mixed emotions – one of a teary-eyed separation while the other of subdued elation on reaching a milestone.
Our first batch of 7 children passed out of the home into the world outside on reaching age 18 and completing their Class 12 education. These 7 children came to our foundation in 2012 as our first batch - shy, skinny & under weight, crying and missing their home.
Today, as they step out into the world, it’s heartening to see the young kids grow up to be amazing young adults – healthy, confident, independent, educated with a strong sense of responsibility, courteous and well mannered and become role models for their younger brothers and sisters. Today, they have dreams varying from joining the Police Force to becoming an engineer to studying commerce to qualifying as a nurse.
While all of us at TBEF feel sad as they leave our home, the day also marks an achievement for us in succeeding in our mission to provide these children with the right platform and opportunity for a better life by empowering them with education, good health and training in extra curricular activities so that they get to realize their potential.
We had dreamt of this day when we started our journey in 2012 with these 7 children. Today is a culmination of the relentless hard work, love and compassion put in by our Trustees, Mr Subir Ghosh, Ms Nanda Chaudhury , all the care givers, supervisors, attendants, cooks and everyone else involved- gratitude to all of them.
The journey continue. Best Wishes to all of them and wishing them a happy, prosperous & healthy life ahead.
